Palestinian writer Mosab Abu Toha, 32, won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary for a series of essays published in The New Yorker, in which he narrates life under the genocide in Palestine perpetrated by the Zionist regime of Israel, with harshness, sensitivity and depth.
The poet also became one of the most moving voices in contemporary literature on the Israeli occupation, so his work was praised by the Pulitzer board for showing the “physical and emotional carnage in Gaza”, not from the distance of analysis, but from the closeness of body and memory, international media report.
