Parliamentarians from Iran and Venezuela promote relations between the two nations

Parliamentarians from Iran and Venezuela held a meeting to promote the relations of cooperation and friendship that exist between the two nations.
During the meeting, held in the Federal Legislative Palace, the president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, welcomed the brotherhood that exists between the two nations and thanked Iran for all the support it has provided to our country to overcome the difficulties that have arisen as a result of the attacks of imperialism against Venezuela.
“We want to express our deep gratitude, because in the most difficult times the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been there. When the Boycott, the sabotage and the sanctions affected the possibility of providing the energy that our people needed, the brother people of Iran were there supporting us,” Rodríguez highlighted during the meeting with the president of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.
On the other hand, Rodríguez emphasized that Venezuela is a country that respects the self-determination and freedom of Peoples, so it has never had a hostile attitude towards other Republics of the world. “The only thing we have proposed is respect for our right to the natural functioning of countries and States in the world,” he said.
“Our right to self-determination, respect for our sovereignty, independence and to relate freely to any people in the world,” he stressed.
In this regard, the president of the Venezuelan Parliament assured that these demands of Venezuela “awakened the demons of the imperial hegemon” who considers the Latin American region as his backyard.
In the same way, he expressed the deep admiration of the Venezuelan people for the course and path of freedom and independence that the Republic of Islam has followed and, despite the sanctions imposed by the United States, this nation has managed to become a pole of technological, energy and global geopolitical power.
