Patriotic Student Youth celebrated Bicentennial of the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress

Students from all over the country participated in the 15th National Congress of Patriotic Student Youth held at the Alejandro Otero Visual Arts Museum in La Rinconada, as part of the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress.

Patriotic Student Youth, according to a press release, is a movement made up of middle and diversified students, teachers and brigade members committed to the defense of national identity.

The event organized by the Ministry of Education (MPPE) was chaired by Alejandro López, Deputy Minister of Education and President of the Simon Bolivar Study Center (CESB); Rosario Soto, Deputy Minister of Culture and Director of the General Archive of the Nation; Pedro Calzadilla, president of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies Rómulo Gallegos (Celarg) and Carina Murúa, historian and teacher of Social Sciences from Argentina, part of the 21 international guests from 12 countries participating in the International Colloquium “Homeland is America” to be held at the Venezuelan School of Planning.

“They are guardians of the history of their country and also of the history of their lands, where their houses, their schools are,” said López, who stressed that with the presence of all of them and of the international guests, “we have here a small Amphictyonic Congress of Panama, which was a moment of union and brotherhood between peoples so that this continent can live in peace, it was one of the achievements of our Liberator Simon Bolivar”.
