Civil Protection (PC) officials in the state of Sucre remain alert monitoring the areas with the highest vulnerability index in the city of Cumaná, in the face of the rains that have occurred in the town.

This was reported by the director of PC, Luis Villalba, who stressed that they keep the entire alert system active to evaluate the communities that are most affected by floods during the rainy season.

The official - quoted by local media - explained that they are also supervising the sewage systems of the capital of Sucre, as well as drains, canals, rivers and streams, with the aim of verifying that they are in “perfect” condition if surprised by torrential downpours.
