Peasant Councils activated in Miranda towards economic transformation

In reports issued by the Ministry of the People's Power of Agriculture and Lands, more than 1,430 organizations have been confirmed in the state of Miranda under the name of the Peasant Council.
In a note published on the website of the Government of Miranda, the director of the Agriculture and Land portfolio of the Mirandina region, Nazareth Serrano, explained that 32,000 men and women are dedicated to agricultural work in the entity, who, according to the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, are already under discussion of the projects they will present at the National Peasant Consultation to be carried out in the coming months.
He also specified that the largest agricultural activity in the state is carried out on the V alles del Tuy and Barlovento axes.
“In Barlovento, musaceae (bananas and cambures), cacao are produced, as well as roots (carrots, beets) and root vegetables (sweet potatoes, potatoes and yams),” he said.
He pointed out that in the Valles del Tuy, the production of legumes, corn, as well as roots and tubers stands out.
Regarding the formation of peasant councils in Miranda, to date, information meetings have been held in 20 municipalities in the region.
Serrano explained that, based on the guidance of President Maduro, 353 meetings have been held in rural communities in Miranda.
He reported that peasant projects in the region are aimed at optimizing irrigation systems, roads and the acquisition of inputs and tools.
