The popular power of Carabobo is advancing in the consolidation of participatory democracy with the second day of assemblies for the constitution of the Bolivarian Integral Base Committees.
On Avenida Transversal 95, residents and spokespersons of the community held an active assembly with nine candidates registered by popular election. The day included integration and dialogue activities between neighbors, as part of the process promoted by President Nicolás Maduro to strengthen the bases of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).
Evelyn Torrence, responsible for registering the participants, indicated that the activity represents an exercise in monitoring the party's basic structures, aimed at consolidating direct participation: “We are here with our neighbors, verifying the presence and commitment of each one. This type of meeting reinforces the link between community and leadership, and ensures that spokespersons respond to local realities.”
José Leonardo Mejía, responsible for registering candidacies, highlighted the collective nature of the process: “We have come to strengthen popular power, to build voices from the street, from coexistence. This assembly is not just a choice, it is a way of making revolution from the human point of view, from the everyday. Here problems are discussed, solutions are shared, and an organization with a socialist sense is built”.
