The Peruvian electoral lawyer, Johan Ramírez, during an interview with the Venezuelan Television channel as part of his operation El Pueblo Decide, highlighted the advisability of encouraging adolescent electoral participation as a strategy to strengthen democracy in the medium term.

“In our countries, the electoral participation of young people should be, more incisive, even more so when they are young people of 15 years old, since five of them are 20 in 10, 25 we are already talking about their new role in political participation so that they continue to be immersed in the decisions made by their authorities,” he said.

He added that in this case as proposals they have the evaluation of the decisions that they have already been proposing to their authorities, and it also allows that a young Venezuelan at the age of 15 or 16 have already voted twice for a different type of popular election.

“The alternative that you are developing very quickly and efficiently is electronic voting, we still have the vote in person, which denotes, both in terms of calculation and logistics and in terms of time, a longer time to obtain the result ,” said Ramírez.

The invited international observer highlighted the speed of the process for electing Venezuelan because what people want most is to vote and not delay long.

“That still takes our time, as technology is advancing, so it is understood that we should make use of it so that citizens immediately feel more cared for the exercise of democracy,” he said.

As for the type of leading democracy, he assured that it is the People's decision what the authorities should do or execute.

“We are also going to have two processes in a single year: in April 2026, we have the presidential election process, which has the first round in April, the second in June and another election in October, which, if there is also a second round, as long as it does not pass 30%. Those candidates for regional governors have a second round in December, there is a very active participation in these times, where obviously that impetus, that replacement or whatever the population wants to consider differently, the way to do it is through the vote going to the elections”, he concluded.
