The Venezuelan Association of the Small and Medium Oil Industry (PETROPYMI) is making progress in the development of energy sovereignty to overcome the difficulties caused by the unilateral coercive measures illegally imposed by the United States and its satellite countries against Venezuela.
This was stated by the president of PETROPYMI, Reinaldo Quintero, in an interview with the newspaper Úlmas Noticias, in which he pointed out that “our job is local content, import substitution, manufacturing in Venezuela most of the possible products within our competence.”
“We are going to the country that manufactures goods and services within the territory to generate goods, taxes, payment of taxes, jobs. It's an economy and that's part of the Gross Domestic Product and it's the value added to the sector,” he stressed.
To this end, he explained that PETROPYMI has four sectors: chemical, metalworking, technological and integrated services, and the part of general services that can be supplies, such as manufacturing materials, equipment and supplies for the energy, hydrocarbon or gas industries.
Quintero highlighted that this association has 25 affiliated companies and has a plan to empower and unite 100 companies, from 25 to 25.
In this context, he explained that they work with Petrleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and its subsidiaries, which are referred to as partner A. In addition, with transnational corporations that, together with the state oil company, are in so-called joint ventures (partner B).
These alliances are governed by the four forms of relationship contemplated in Venezuelan legislation: the licenses granted by PDVSA, which are guided by the Organic Law on Gaseous Hydrocarbons, as well as joint ventures, governed by the Organic Law on Liquid Hydrocarbons ; the productive participation contracts for hydrocarbons, established in the Anti-Blockade Law.”
“All associations and all contracts, which is a hydrocarbon service alliance and which is governed by the Organic Law on Public Procurement,” he said.
