The popular pilgrimage to demand the cessation of sanctions against Venezuela arrived in the state of Nueva Esparta, and was attended by the first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante; the deputy América Pérez; and the governor of the island entity, Marisel Velásquez.
“We continue today on a pilgrimage, which is walking together, walking together with our people, with all social sectors to continue demanding that they release Venezuela from sanctions,” said Infante. The parliamentarian, as reported by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), clarified that he had previously mobilized to the states of Amazonas, Bolivar, Guayana Esequiba, Delta Amacuro and Monagas.
“We would be with fishermen, businessmen, academic sectors, workers [...] Notice the importance when a people come together and request with one voice the lifting of sanctions,” he said, in addition to emphasizing the damage that the sanctions caused to the Venezuelan economy at the scales of states, municipalities and families in the national territory.
He then announced that tomorrow there would be activities throughout the country, as well as religious, sporting and cultural events in all the Neo-Spartan municipalities; in turn, he indicated that a pilgrimage is also taking place in the state of Yaracuy this Saturday. In the same way, he announced that next Monday this popular mobilization will also visit the states of Anzoátegui, Sucre and Miranda; and that all pilgrimage routes will arrive in Caracas soon.
For his part, Velásquez declared that they answered in perfect unity the call issued by the President (E) of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez; and in this way, the Neo-Spartan people will raise their prayers on this pilgrimage.
