The Ministry of Popular Power for Sports, in collaboration with the communal councils, has launched the Plan for the Territorialization of Physical Activity and Sports in Caracas. The opening day was held on the sports court of Calle Real Gramoven, in the Tamanaquito sector, where more than 200 residents of the Espada de Bolívar, Indio Catia, María Teresa del Toro and Capitán Rivas Vegas community councils participated in the reopening of this sports space.

The event was attended by the Minister of Popular Power for Sports, Arnaldo Sánchez, and the first vice-president of the National Assembly, Pedro Infante. During the activity, sports equipment was delivered to more than fifteen soccer, basketball and volleyball schools that use these facilities, to strengthen sports development in the community.

In his speech, Minister Sánchez stressed that “the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, instructed to start the territorialization plan for community and student sports, to expand sports in all our communities and in our neighborhoods, and here we are, starting this plan with great joy and love.”

“The Territorialization Plan for Physical Activity and Sports has as its main objective to consolidate the systematic training of traditional sports throughout the country and to evaluate sports initiation protocols,” said Sánchez.

This plan will be extended to all neighborhoods and communities in Caracas and the rest of the country, with the purpose of ensuring sports mass to ensure that all sectors of the population have access to quality sports facilities and programs.
