The first season of the play
Neither Enemies Nor Strangers, directed by Jericó Montilla, culminated successfully in the hall
of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies Rómulo Gallegos (CELARG), located in Caracas.
According to information from Venezolana de
Televisión, this work recounts the hardships suffered by
Venezuelan migrants who remain kidnapped at the Center for the Confinement of
Terrorism (CECOT) in El Salvador.
The show, which addresses the complex
reality of Venezuelan migration through circus arts, music
and dance, is a co-production of the National Theater Company, the
National Circus of Venezuela and Teatro Ceres, which was supported by the Gran
Misión Viva Venezuela Mi Patria Querida and the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture.
The performance was attended by the
Deputy Minister of Arts, Image and Space, Mary Pemjean, who expressed her
satisfaction with the room full of spectators. “There is no better way to close
this last show than with this room full of people to give that love to
this extraordinary work,” he said.
He also stressed that the work is a
“tribute to our Venezuelans” who are going through the situation
reflected in the piece, and added that among its current objectives, it is that
“this story is known in every corner of the world”.
For his part, Montilla stressed that this” is
the last performance of the first season. We are going to touch more hearts all over
Venezuela. We're going for more features!” , he said, leaving open the possibility
of future presentations at the national level.
