The Holy See Press Office reported this Saturday afternoon, March 1, that “Pope Francis' clinical condition remains stable and alternated non-invasive mechanical ventilation with long periods of high-flow oxygen therapy, “always maintaining a good response to gas exchange”.

He also indicates to the communication that “the Holy Father is afebrile and has no leukocytosis. His hemodynamic parameters have always been stable; he has continued to feed himself and has regularly performed respiratory physiotherapy, actively cooperating. He has not had any episodes of bronchospasm.”

“The Holy Father is always vigilant and oriented. In the afternoon he received the Eucharist and then dedicated himself to prayer. The forecast is still reserved.”

The Pope's mood is still good. Today he prayed in the chapel near his room for about twenty minutes, the Press Office added.

Pope Francis spent the night quiet, the Holy See read this Saturday morning about the pontiff's health. “The night went by quietly, the Pope is resting,” the update said.
