“In honor of the Most Holy Trinity for the exaltation of the Catholic faith and growth of Christian life, with the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, of ours; after having reflected at length, invoking divine help many times and hearing the opinion of numerous brothers of the Episcopate, we declare and define saints to the blessed martyrs: Ignacio Maoyan, Peter Rot To, Vicenza María Poloni, María Troncatti, María Carmen Rendiles, José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros and Bartolo Longo”.

With these words, Pope Leo XIV made official the holiness of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández and Mother Carmen Rendiles, who have been raised to the top of the altars after years of evaluating testimonies of their miraculous works among devotees.

From St. Peter's Square in Vatican City, Rome, the supreme pontiff completed the canonization formula with the order of “we inscribed them in the Catalogue of Saints and we establish that throughout the church they should be devoutly honored among the saints. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit”.
