This Friday, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, said that the existence of 12,132 previously registered street offices will be corroborated, to determine if the system of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) should be updated, during an assembly with the street chiefs of the Capital District.
The Acoustic Shell of the Ali Primera Park, located in the Sucre parish of Caracas, was the scene of the meeting, which in turn was a prelude to the popular PSUV assemblies to elect the Bolivarian Grassroots Committees.
Meléndez emphasized that through the method of community assemblies, it will be determined how many streets their community heads have “and we are going to confirm it in these assemblies.” He also emphasized “We must let community leaders work in their territory.”
“We within the PSUV system have 2,652 communities that we have verified, that are there, that are in the territory, that are flesh and blood,” said Meléndez.
In turn, the person in charge of the PSUV community assemblies for the Capital District, Héctor Rodríguez, explained a series of guidelines that street bosses must comply with, such as promoting President Nicolás Maduro's Plan of the Seven Transformations; preparation for the defense of Venezuelan territory; physical transformation of the city; guaranteeing sustainability and territorializing social movements.
