As part of an official visit to the city of Paramaribo, the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, held a high-level bilateral meeting this Friday with the President of the Republic of Suriname, Jennifer Geerlings-Simons.

The meeting took place in the premises of the Presidential Palace, where the work schedule of both leaders began in the early hours of the morning.

During the day, the Heads of State reviewed the status of existing bilateral agreements and ratified their commitment to continue strengthening a solid cooperation agenda, aimed at establishing strategic alliances for the mutual benefit and well-being of both peoples.

This high-level meeting continues the road map drawn up in May of this year during the visit to Caracas of the Foreign Minister of Suriname, Melvin Bouva.

It is worth mentioning that on that occasion, both governments agreed to move towards a new stage of integration aimed at exploring key areas such as energy, maritime and air transport, agriculture, fishing, trade, tourism, culture and education.
