The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, commemorating the 214th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 1811, assured that “as Ali Primera would say, this is People's Day because the Fatherland is the man, the woman, the child, the youth, the worker, the peasant”.
“Today we can say: We have done it! Preserving the most precious asset they left us: we are a free, sovereign, independent Homeland and, above all, in Peace,” he emphasized.
On his Instagram account, he said that “under this same sun, our founding fathers signed the act that irrevocably declared us free and sovereign of any colonial empire.
In the message, he highlighted that “that #5Jul, our founding fathers, with courage and love, solemnly declared the absolute independence of the united provinces of Venezuela.”
“They solved the dilemma of remaining tied down, kneeling before the criminal Spanish empire, or taking the step of dignity and rebellion. And the step was taken! We thank God for the strength of that generation of Liberators and Liberators, for the example and for having bequeathed us freedom, which is our standard, our cause, our truth, free from imperial domination, to walk our own path,” he stressed.
In addition, the head of state maintained that “we are gestating perpetual independence, forging with effort, work, honor, patriotism, love and national union.”
He stressed that “in the face of the North American empire and the old colonialists of Europe, we have once again declared our absolute will that the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is and will be a free, sovereign, independent, dignified and rebellious nation.”
“Never submissive, always free, never colony, independent forever and ever!” , he ruled.
