The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, this Friday, September 13, during a day of supervising the refurbishment of schools and high schools in the country, assured that BRICOMILES have been an effective method to overcome bureaucracy and bring happiness to the people.
The satisfaction of the People is immense to have their school and high school operational, and that is possible thanks to the Community and Military Brigades, if we had gone down the path of a memorandum, of a point of account, of bureaucracy, the thousands of schools that today are recovered or in the recovery phase would never have been recovered to achieve what is our goal, to make schools and high schools 100% functional throughout the country,” said the Head of State.
The BRICOMILES were created in 2022 by the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro, with the objective of recovering and improving the country's educational and health infrastructures, through civic-military participation.
Two years after its creation, the BRICOMILES have made significant progress in the rehabilitation of more than 26,000 educational and health care spaces nationwide for the benefit of millions of students, teachers, patients and health personnel.
Among the works carried out by the BRICOMILES, waterproofing, replacement of white water for bathrooms, rehabilitation of toilets and walls, ceilings, floors, windows, doors, bathrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, sports fields, laboratories, libraries and computer rooms stand out.
In addition, the Brigades have carried out painting work, equipment repair, provision of supplies and adaptation of areas in health centers, work that has been accompanied by the Sectorial Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, Education and Health (CITES).
The head of state described the result of the Bricomiles as “tremendous” and “successful” and highlighted the creative power of the people for quality education and health.
