The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
Nicolás Maduro, celebrated this Wednesday the 17th anniversary of the swearing in of
Commander Hugo Chávez after being re-elected as head of state with the greatest
support of the people, then, through the vote in the history of the country Venezuela.
Through his account on the social network X, the
Venezuelan Dignitary recalled that Commander Chávez, that day, “swore to give himself
completely to the construction of the Socialist Homeland”, highlighting this as “a
date that strengthens our combative spirit, reminding us of the promise of
life and the sacrifice of our Eternal Leader out of love for the People”.
On January 10, 2007, the Supreme Commander and Leader of
the Bolivarian Revolution was sworn in as re-elected president, after achieving
62.84% of the vote, which meant 7 million 309 thousand 080 votes, while his rival Manuel Rosales could only achieve 4,292,466.
With this result, Chávez
would complete his third presidential term from 2007 to 2013.
During his speech to the National Assembly, he emphasized his
commitment to the country and the most disadvantaged classes, but he also urged
those who opposed them to join a path of dialogue to find common ground and achieve the unity of the entire nation.
“I will dedicate my days and nights, my entire life to the
construction of Venezuelan socialism, to the construction of a new
political system, a new social system, a new economic system,” he said
then.
