The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, joined the celebration for the Bicentenary of the founding of Bolivia this Wednesday.
“Today we are moving to the heart of South America, to the favorite daughter of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, to celebrate the Bicentenary of Bolivian Independence,” wrote the Head of State on his Telegram channel.
In his message, the Dignitary recalled that “the heroic land of Túpac Katari, Bartolina Sisa and Juana Azurduy de Padilla, was the scene where 200 years ago great battles were fought and won that laid the foundations for their birth as a free nation”.
He emphasized that the peoples of Venezuela and Bolivia “are united by deep roots, by the integrationist spirit of our Liberating Father and the vision of the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho, Antonio José de Sucre,” who was the founder and first president of the Andean country.
In this regard, he ratified his love for this sister nation, and stressed that Bolivia “is an ethical and moral reference for the peoples of the world. The struggle of their ancestors and their ethnic resistance is a force that inspires us,” he added.
“On this very significant date, from Venezuela we extend our affection and greetings to the Bolivian people. May the celebration of this Bicentennial further strengthen the brotherhood between our peoples and encourage us to continue fighting for the Great Homeland, ratifying our independence and sovereignty every day. Long live free and sovereign Bolivia!” , he stressed.
