The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, joins the People of Mexico this Tuesday in celebrating the Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patron saint of the Aztec country.

“The peoples of America today celebrate the day of their patron saint, the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe. Wrapped in that spirituality, we pray to God, through his Holy Mother, to grant us the strength and faith to continue fighting for the welfare of the Fatherland,” said the head of state through his X account.

Every December 12th, the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe is commemorated, one of the most concurrent and patron of Mexicans.

The Virgin was presented four times on the hill of Tepeyac, to the indigenous Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin. At that time, the Lady of Guadalupe commissioned him to ask the capital's bishop, the Franciscan Juan de Zumárraga, in her name to build a church in the place where she found divinity, according to documents from the Vatican.
