The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, commemorated 214 years of Mexican independence through his Telegram channel.
In that regard, he congratulated the Government and the Aztec people whom he described as “combative, cheerful, warm and simple people, who guard a beautiful land, full of history”.
He also wrote: “While in Venezuela we were in the midst of the independence revolution, 214 years ago in a small town of #México, in the state of Guanajuato, from a church a humble priest launched the famous #GritoDeDolores, calling on the people to the fight for freedom, a courageous act that marked the beginning of the great social revolution that led the Mexican people to the conquest of their #Independencia (...) From my deepest Bolivarian sentiment, today I join the historic patriotic harangue; Long Live Our Liberators! Long live Mexico! Long Live Our America!”
