President Maduro: FILVEN is a festival of knowledge, culture, knowledge and writing

President Nicolás Maduro affirmed that the Venezuelan International Book Fair (FILVEN) is a festival of knowledge, culture, knowledge, writing and universal identity, in which the enormous diversity and beauty of peoples is appreciated.

“I am sure that this 21st edition of the Venezuelan International Book Fair will be an absolute success of lights, knowledge and brilliance of Venezuelan and universal culture,” said the head of state through a publication on his Telegram channel.

He also noted that without a doubt the printing press had a tremendous impact. “Our liberator never lacked what he called the artillery of thought, a massive cultural revolution, identity and knowledge.

The 2025 edition of FILVEN, which runs until July 13 in Caracas, at the National Art Gallery and the Youth Square, offers a program with more than 600 literary and cultural activities, with the participation of publishers from 18 countries and the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity, led in Venezuela by the writer Luis Britto García.

Participating countries include Argentina, Peru, Spain, Egypt, Mexico, Cuba and China. Attendees will be able to explore editorial novelties and classics of national and international literature, through book presentations, forums, discussions and thematic pavilions, with special attention to children's and young people's literature.
