President Maduro: First Pedagogical Congress of Teachers begins a constituent process of the Magisterium

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Thursday, August 14, leads the Closing of the First Pedagogical Congress of Bolivarian Teachers, for the defense and transformation of Bolivarian education.

In the Sala Ríos Reyna of the Teresa Carreño Theater, the head of state proposed that “from now on we become aware that you have initiated, with this congress you have triggered a true constituent process of a new movement of the Venezuelan Magisterium”.

“May the teachers and teachers of this free and beautiful country live, may the mothers and fathers who cook, long live the educational community, long live education, may the students live,” he said.

He expressed his happiness for “being at this first Pedagogical Congress of Bolivarian Teachers”.

The congress began on August 12, where nearly 250,000 proposals were collected from the country's teachers, which emerged from meetings in educational institutions and debated by more than 40,000 selected spokespersons.

At the event, President Maduro was accompanied by the First Combatant Cilia Flores de Maduro, the Vice President for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez; the Sectorial Vice President of Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez; the Minister of Popular Power for University Education, Ricardo Sánchez; and the Minister of Popular Power for the Social Process of Labor, Eduardo Piñate.
