The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, signed a Roadmap of economic complementarity, equality, trust, respect and mutual benefit, with Grenada, to strengthen the ties of cooperation between the two nations.
In this regard, the head of state stressed that these ties point to shared development, mutual benefits and unity, because “it is increasingly the most powerful in our Caribbean region”.
The Venezuelan president also stated that during this meeting several agreements were reviewed, such as plans for joint action between the governments and peoples of Grenada and Venezuela, countries that also share the same vision, challenges, and challenges for development in the years to come in Latin America and the Caribbean.
On the other hand, he pointed out that the peoples of the Caribbean must have a common work and destiny, with the objective of continuing to affirm “our area, our region, as a region of peace, understanding and harmony, in order to build the present and, above all, the future prosperity of our countries.
In this context, he also noted that this State visit is very significant for both countries, “which today, are drawing up a hopeful Roadmap, in order to continue to advance in comprehensive cooperation that optimizes the lives of both peoples and demonstrates that another world, another path, is possible.”
“Equality between States, equality between peoples, mutual respect, cooperation, solidarity, complementarity, are values that say a lot in today's world, so today, we signed the Roadmap for the development of cooperation between both nations for the period 2025-2027. This joint statement ratifies existing brotherhood ties and addresses relevant issues on the international agenda. These agreements seek to consolidate our strategic bilateral alliance, aimed at maximizing mutual benefits and promoting economic complementarity,” he stressed.
Among the agreements signed are plans for joint action, the one reached with the new Humberto Fernández-Morán University of Sciences, to students and scientists from Grenada, so that they can be fully trained in all areas of scientific knowledge.
“This effort will lead us to total success in our economies, in the improvement of our peoples and to the development of the Caribbean as a zone of peace, cooperation and brotherhood,” said the Venezuelan president.
Finally, it reaffirmed its commitment to economic integration in the Caribbean region.
“I have ratified the order for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to release Grenada from 100% tariffs and promote Grenadian exports to Venezuela and the integration of Grenada into all economic regions in the east of the country. ”
For his part, the Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell, confessed that he feels privileged to be in Venezuela for the first time, “a country that we consider to be a great friend and neighbor of Grenada and the entire region.”
“It is an honor to be in Venezuela today on my first visit to a friendly and neighboring State: Grenada and the entire region. This visit marks the consolidation and strengthening of the deep and extensive bilateral relations between Venezuela and Grenada that began in 1977.”
