President Maduro highlighted Pope Francis' gesture to place a Palestinian ruana at the birth of the Child Jesus

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted Pope Francis' gesture of placing at the birth of the Child Jesus, “to put precisely one of the Palestinian ruanas and put him to bed and talk about the Palestinian Child Jesus”.

“Bethlehem remains in Palestine, how nice that the pope says so, that beautiful adoration that we sing with the four of us, drums adoring the Child, we always go to Bethlehem on a donkey, on horseback,” he said.

In the broadcast of his program Maduro Live de Repente, he indicated that traditional Venezuelan music is inspired by the adoration of God, the Child Jesus, the Virgin Mary, the Fatherland and Simon Bolivar.

He also specified that the song “Mi Burrito Sabanero” has become very famous this Christmas, “it's from when we were children, but now they are trying to say that this song is not Venezuelan”.

He stressed that every song has a story and every story has a reason.

He also informed all the cultures and cultivators of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela mi Patria Querida, “what is coming in 2025 is great, we have to apply two maxims: We invent or we make mistakes, we don't stay in what we have done, we have to go for more, and the other is to apply the creative powers of the People to the maximum.”

For his part, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, highlighted the ways in which the Great Mission Viva Venezuela mi Patria Querida has promoted the recognition of the country's indigenous folkloric expressions.
