The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, praised the day held this Saturday, September 20, “The Barracks Go to the People”, within the framework of the enlistment phase of men and women in defense of peace, sovereignty and independence of Venezuela.
“It is a historic day where, starting at 6:00 in the morning, with the traditional target ring, the soldiers and soldiers of the Fatherland rose to deploy in the country's 5,336 Community Circuits, in an action that strengthens civic-military union, and consolidates the model of comprehensive territorial defense,” he said.
“The people are willing to go into combat, if the threats of the North American empire persist and if it is necessary to move on to an armed struggle,” he emphasized.
In that regard, he emphasized that “the Homeland of Simon Bolivar says: we are more united than ever to guarantee the sovereignty, peace and right to life and work of the People of Venezuela.”
He stressed that the Venezuelan people say to the North American empire, “enough of the threat”, referring to the commitment shown in the 5,336 communal circuits that are currently under military preparation.
President Maduro also expressed his congratulations to the 10,000 peasants present at the Founding Assembly of the National Peasant Congress and to the 36,000 spokespersons connected by videoconference, on a national scale, who were elected by the peasant base.
He argued that the Bolivarian Revolution is not afraid of constant threats from the U.S. government.
