On the afternoon of this Tuesday, August 12, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said that as of January 1, 2026, the goal is to have six thousand consolidated communes.

“We are pursuing that goal and in La Guaira, by that date, we must have 73 to 80 legalized, constituted communes, with legitimate and consolidated voices,” he said.

He indicated that “today a special one-line offensive begins that will strengthen our internal security, which involves concrete military-police fusion on the ground,” while stressing that it is about peace and the fight against crime on a permanent basis.”
