President Maduro: Independence, Dignity and Life in Sovereignty Have No Alternative

The president of
the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ratified for the country and the sovereign
peoples of the region it is not an alternative to become a colony of the United
States (USA) or to be a State associated with North American imperialism.
During the closing
of the International Conference Colonialism, Neocolonialism and
Territorial Dispossession of Western Imperialism, which was held in Caracas, the head
of state reiterated his complaint about the threats to Venezuela and
other nations posed by “supremacy and warrior madness”.
In this regard, he stressed
that “the dilemma is no longer Homeland or Death, because independence,
freedom, dignity and life in sovereignty have no alternative, because here the struggle
is independence or colony, freedom or slave”.
The President
emphasized that Venezuela “will not kneel before the U.S. empire or anyone
else, whatever power it has” and will not lower its head and will be a slave “to the supremacists who persecute
the Latin American peoples in Portland,
Chicago, New York, who kick them in the streets and take their children.”
