President Maduro: Maize and rice production increases by more than 70%

Tonight, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, reported that corn and rice production increased by more than 70% with effective and focused agricultural policies.

He offered this statement in his Con Maduro+ program, where he explained that Venezuela's agricultural frontier has a gigantic growth horizon. Official information from the agri-food portfolio reports that annual growth is stable at 4.5 to 5% in agricultural production.

“We have managed to supply food items with domestic production. We are in production with the PAE, producing, supplying and exporting; because Venezuela is going to become a major exporter of food to the world. We are already on our way!” , he emphasized.

He stressed that the national peasant union has yielded good results. “I told them, one of the main lines of this new organization, the national peasant union, is to start producing completely on those 14 million 500 thousand hectares, to achieve an objective that I have set for it as the PAE. We are going to be the breadbasket of the world,” he said.
