President Maduro: National University of Sciences will teach an engineering career in AI

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, valued the technological advances being made by the world in the context of the Digital Age. He recalled that the National University of Sciences “Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán” will open its doors to dictate areas of knowledge related to Artificial Intelligence (AI).

He also valued the technological advances being made by the world in the context of the Digital Age, affirming that the nation is heading towards consolidating educational transformation in the field of science and technology.

In this regard, during the transmission of space “With Maduro +” number 70, the head of state recalled that the National University of Sciences “Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán” will open its doors to dictate areas of knowledge related to Artificial Intelligence (AI).

“Venezuela has good news because we are working on the topic of Artificial Intelligence. The Humberto Fernández - Morán University of Sciences already has a professional career in Artificial Intelligence Engineering; so Venezuela in Artificial Intelligence together with our brothers from ALBA, joining forces, we are going to have tremendous news in the middle of this year,” he said.

This new house of studies was inaugurated on December 12, 2024 by the President of the Republic, with an academic offer at the undergraduate and advanced levels, aimed at ensuring the planting and preservation of national scientific talent.

Undergraduate careers include: Electromedical Engineering; Robotics and Automation Engineering; Biomaterial Engineering; Petrochemical Engineering; Artificial Intelligence Engineering and Cybersecurity Engineering.

In addition, degrees are offered in: Nuclear Physics; Biotechnology; Data Science; Nanotechnology; Molecular Science; Oceanology; Computational Biology and Chemistry; Physics; Mathematics and Philosophy.
