President Maduro presides over solemn ceremony on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the founding of CEOFANB

The Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, presides over the solemn ceremony in the framework of the 20th Anniversary of the founding of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB).

At the beginning of the event, the head of state maintained that the CEOFANB is one of the most transcendental foundations of Bolivarian Military Thought, which is “the strategic vision of Commander Hugo Chávez, with the objective of guaranteeing the peace and security of the nation,” he stressed.

“Two decades ago, Commander Chávez's vision gave life to CEOFANB, an institution that marked a turning point in Venezuelan military doctrine,” he said.

The CEOFANB is the joint planning, programming, direction, execution and strategic operational control body of the FANB, and is mainly and directly directed by the Head of State, who, in his capacity as Commander in Chief of the FANB, delegates the different tasks that must be carried out in the field of defense.

In addition, the CEOFANB is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the different components that are part of the FANB, such as the Bolivarian Army, Bolivarian Military Aviation, Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) and the Bolivarian Militia.
