The executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, sent a letter to his US counterpart, Donald Trump, demanding that he cease aggressions against Venezuela.
“We are a territory free of illegal activities, of peace and security. The military threat against Venezuela, the Caribbean and South America must cease, and the CELAC Peace Zone proclamation must be respected,” says part of the letter.
Rodríguez specified that, in the letter, the Venezuelan head of state demonstrates, through maps and scientific data supported by international organizations, that Venezuela is a territory free of illegal activities.
He noted that the letter was sent on September 5 and delivered on September 6 by a South American intermediary. After the partial publication of the document in US media, the Venezuelan Government decided to make the full text public.
