President Maduro to governors and mayors: Let's fine-tune plans for prevention, security and peace protection

From the Miraflores Palace, where he led a meeting of the Federal Governing Council with the newly elected governors and mayors, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, urged work to strengthen plans for prevention, security and peace protection throughout the national territory.

“I invite Chavista and opposition governors and mayors to finalize plans to prevent security and protect peace and harmony throughout the national territory because together everything is possible,” he said.

He noted the importance of strengthening the Peace Quadrants and citizen security plans in each state and municipality of the country in order to ensure the eradication of the remnants of criminal gangs that still exist.

“We must come together to be able to adjust all the plans. We have to defeat all the criminal gangs that exist in the country, we are waiting for the fight every day; Venezuela has won without a doubt and I humbly say this peace and we must take care of it,” he emphasized.

He highlighted the achievements made by the national Government in this area. “We have made good progress in the internal stability, peace, coexistence and security of the country so that people can walk quietly, enjoy its spaces, parks, beaches, parks (...), with more and more places of rest where people go to enjoy, there are more and more neighborhoods that used to be very dangerous and are now a space for enjoyment for their people and whoever wants to visit them,” he said.
