The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, urged the Sectorial Vice President of Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, Vladimir Padrino López, to take appropriate actions aimed at vindicating the former president of Venezuela, Carlos Delgado Chalbaud.
In that sense, he pointed out that “it has not been vindicated and Delgado Chalbaud was a great nationalist, a great patriot and I think he became an anti-imperialist”.
This was stated at the José Ávalos High School, in El Valle, where he took a tour, in view of starting classes in the period 2024-2025 and supervising the facilities, as part of the advances of the Military Community Brigades for Education and Health (BRICOMILES) for Education.
“Let's vindicate Carlos Delgado Chalbaud in the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, who was assassinated precisely because he emerged as one of the great leaders for the 1950s in Venezuela, to rethink the processes of that time,” he recalled.
Carlos Román Delgado Gómez, born in Caracas on January 20, 1909 and assassinated in Caracas on November 13, 1950, was a Venezuelan soldier, engineer and politician. He was president of the Military Junta governing the United States of Venezuela after the coup d'état of 1948 until his death during a kidnapping in Caracas. He was the only president of Venezuela who was the victim of assassination.
