President Maduro: Venezuela is a land of saints and those who attack us their tongues will fall!

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, after celebrating the official canonization of Mother Carmen Rendiles and José Gregorio Hernández, stressed that these first saints represent the essence of Venezuelans. 

 “If you combine the values of what José Gregorio is, of what Mother Carmen is, Holy and Holy, you say; that is the essence of what we are, of true Venezuelanism, which is to be supportive, is to be good,” said the President at the end of the homily officiated by Pope Leo XIV where both sanctities were raised to the altars.

“We are a people of saints and saints,” he said while considering that this fact serves to overthrow the xenophobic campaign against Venezuelans.

“Those who attack us in a xenophobic way and say barbarities about Venezuela their language will fall because God's blessings are upon Venezuela,” he said while asking the new sanctities to reach the hearts of all Venezuelans.

“To Saint Joseph Gregorio and to our Holy Mother Carmen I ask you to fill the hearts of the Venezuelan people with love with patriotism, with love for what is ours and I ask our people to turn love for what is ours into a seed for the greening of a country, that is ever better for all and for everyone, that we take this inspiration that we have, which is a divine inspiration, of beautiful spirituality, of good spirituality, and let us seize it to be better”, he cried out.
