President Maduro: Venezuela is at the forefront of the development of Artificial Intelligence

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced that Venezuela is at the forefront of the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), by signing with the Chinese technology company iFlytek, a memorandum of understanding for international cooperation in the joint development of AI technologies, in order to strengthen scientific independence, as well as the capacity for innovation.

“Something very important has been signed between a world leading technology company and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which is the development of sovereign Venezuelan Artificial Intelligence at the highest level in alliance with China,” he stressed.

The information was provided in the Simon Bolivar Park in La Carlota at the inauguration of the Great China-Venezuela Expo: A splendid future is built on 51 years of bilateral cooperation, within the framework of the 51st Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the People's Republic of China.

On the other hand, he also recalled that every July 5 214 years of independence are commemorated: the signing of the Act of Independence, a fact that marked the birth of the Republic and sealed the historic commitment of the Venezuelan people to freedom.

“A virtuous generation declared the absolute independence forever of the united provinces of Venezuela,” he said.

In contrast, he mentioned how in the United States they celebrate their independence with fervor every 4th of July.

In this regard, he referred to the participation of the Venezuelan Francisco de Miranda in that process as a symbol of the shared emancipatory spirit. “I always tell American envoys: it's amazing how they celebrate their independence,” he added.
