In the framework of the International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed that Venezuela will continue “at the forefront to bare, confront and crush fascism. We have to be the light of love, truth and life.”
Through his Telegram channel, he highlighted the importance of continuing to promote peace, tolerance and respect between peoples, when fascism is re-emerging as a result of the cultural collapse of the West.
“Even if it doesn't have the same shape as the era of Hitler and Mussolini, its content is just as criminal, racist, exclusionary and colonialist,” he said, noting that social networks have become a tool to promote this policy of imperialism.
“Fascism is the main policy of imperialism in the world and operates through the deception of social networks: cyberfascism that feeds on despair to become a false light,” he denounced.
In view of this, he stressed that the Venezuelan people will always be on the side of humanity that fights for peace. “Anti-fascism is a concept of permanent resistance that involves building the future: a destiny of harmony, integration and tolerance. As Commander Chávez taught us, this is the time of the New World of hopes and dreams,” he said.
Every November 9, the International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism is commemorated to remember the victims of the Night of Broken Glass in Germany and Austria in 1938, which was the preamble to the Nazi Holocaust during the Second World War against the Jewish population, but also against communists, socialists, anarchists, gypsies, people with disabilities and different sexes.
