President Nicolás Maduro: Today we have a community with more than 50,000 first-rate scientists

President Nicolás Maduro, regarding the climate emergency that has been affecting several entities of the country due to heavy rains caused by meteorological phenomena linked to climate change, assured that Venezuela has specialists to respond to emergency situations.
“Today we have a community of more than 50,000 first-rate scientists, for all areas of knowledge, organized and working. With human feeling and contributing his knowledge to address this type of situation,” said the Head of State from the state of Mérida.
In this regard, he highlighted this Thursday the importance of improving measurement and early warning systems for climate phenomena, highlighting the cooperation between the country and the People's Republic of China in the acquisition of technology and the fundamental role of People's Power in responding to emergencies generated by climate change.
He also reiterated his government's commitment to the preparation and knowledge of the population in the face of the challenges of climate change. “Let's perfect early detection, permanent measurement and structural alert systems, so that our people are experts in managing the new variables that exist in climate change and emergency,” he concluded.
