President of Cuba arrived in Moscow as part of the celebration of the anti-fascist victory of the Red Army

The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez arrived in the Russian Federation last Sunday at the invitation of his counterpart, Vladimir Putin, to participate in the activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army over fascism.

The Cuban delegation made its first stop in St. Petersburg, where it paid tribute to the soldiers who fell fighting in the city of Leningrad and to the inhabitants who died of hunger, disease and cold in the midst of the fascist siege.

The president led the wreath placed at the Piskaryovskoye cemetery in St. Petersburg, at the monument to the Motherland.

He later signed the Guestbook, where he emphasized the essential role played by the glorious Red Army in defeating the greatest threat to the planet during the first half of the 20th century: fascism.

Along with the president, other high-ranking Cuban officials, including Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla and the head of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Emilio Lozada García.

Last Monday, the Cuban president and the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexandr Beglov, discussed issues of the future development of cooperation between the pharmaceutical industries of both countries.
