The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, urged to consolidate efforts to protect sovereignty, geographical space, State structures and internal stability, in addition to activating diplomatic efforts from the legislative sphere.

During an extraordinary session, Rodríguez urged parliamentarians to set aside political discourse and prioritize the country's defense, while stressing the need for coordination between security forces and citizens to face common challenges.

“The integrity of the territory is more important than political militancy, which is why I call for national unity,” he emphasized after the approval of the Draft Agreement in support of sovereignty, the protection of the territory, Venezuelan institutions and peace, in accordance with Article 111 of the Internal and Debate Regulations.

The parliamentary authority proposed meetings with Parliamentary Friendship Groups and the sending of letters and commissions to congresses in America and other areas, in order to denounce external pressure against Venezuela.

Rodríguez warned that the threat transcends Venezuelan borders and could affect regional balance, including the Caribbean and the American continent.

He stressed that the National Assembly must position itself in international legislative spaces to make the situation visible and promote joint responses.
