All high school graduates who are registered on the National Entry System (SNI) website have guaranteed university space, said the president of the Venezuelan Federation of University Students (FVEU), Ariana Llanos.

In an interview with Venezolana de Televisión and repeated by the newspaper Últime Noticias, Llanos explained that even the SNI is open so that high school graduates can select the career of their choice.

He then reported that by the month of August they will publish the results of the 350,000 registered students, who will be assigned to the public university regardless of whether they come from a public or private institution.

He also reaffirmed the commitment of the National Council of Universities (CNU) and the university community, “to the model of free and quality public education that is contemplated in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela”, arguing that the Bolivarian Government defends “this model as the only way to consolidate the university sector”.

When asked about the elimination of internal tests, the president of the FVEU stated that all decisions of the National Council of Universities are protected by the Law; at the same time, she reaffirmed that the purpose is to end all exclusion mechanisms in universities.
