The Presidential Commission for the Recovery of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), through a working agreement with the Transport Union and the state public transport company Miranda, announced the reactivation of routes to and from the university campus as well as the addition of seven new units.
Francisco Garcés, in charge of the commission, explained that this is a plan devised after the pandemic when the UCV was left without transport. “The units I had were completely deactivated, but one of the requirements of the university community was the reactivation of the routes and after continuous work with the transport union, the transport management and the university authorities, we have managed to reactivate them.”
Garcés highlighted the investment that the national government has made since the infrastructure subcommittee to respond to student needs, according to a press release.
The new units will be added to cover the Santa Teresa del Tuy and Cúa, La Guaira and Catia La Mar, Guarenas and Guatire routes. At the same time, the Catia urban route is being reactivated, to go from around 1,000 users to approximately 1,500.
As for the unit schedule, the Los Teques route leaves at 5:40am, Guarenas-Guatire at 5:15am, Santa Teresa and Cúa at 5:00am. While in the case of the afternoon, there is service at 2:00pm and also at 5:00pm.
