The Attorney General's Office of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela charged Argentine gendarme Nahuel Agustín Gallo this Friday, who was arrested on December 8 after trying to enter the country irregularly, under the excuse of visiting a romantic partner.

In a statement, the Public Ministry explained that Gallo “is subject to the respective investigation because of his association with a group of people who tried from our territory and with the support of groups of the international extreme right to carry out a series of destabilizing and terrorist actions.”

Below is the full text of the document:

Having met the corresponding procedural deadlines as provided for in the Organic Code of Criminal Procedure, the Public Prosecutor's Office reports that Mr. Nahuel Agustín Gallo has been arrested for having tried to enter the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela irregularly, hiding his true criminal plan under the guise of a sentimental visit.

In this regard, said citizen is subject to the respective investigation because of his association with a group of people who tried from our territory and with the support of groups of the international extreme right to carry out a series of destabilizing and terrorist actions.

The above-mentioned defendant is available to the judge on the basis of what is established by our Constitution and national laws.

The statements and actions carried out by the Argentine government, using the defendant's relatives, as well as the judicial decision taken by the Federal Chamber of Mendoza, make clear the complicity of the authorities of that Nation in the subversive plans that seek to attack the Venezuelan State and its legitimate institutions by any means.

This Office of the Prosecutor, as well as all the Public Powers, remain firm in the supreme duty to preserve and defend peace, sovereignty and the principle of self-determination of peoples, as fundamental pillars on which our Republic is built.

Caracas, December 27, 2024.
