A new structural damage to the Las Tablettas sector, located between the municipalities of Biruaca and Pedro Camejo in the state of Apure, has caused the lateral collapse of a section of Troncal 02, which has led to the total closure of traffic on this important road that connects with the state of Amazonas.
The fault, detected between kilometers 37 and 38, covers a length of approximately 15 to 20 meters, and was confirmed after a technical evaluation carried out by the Competent Road Safety Bodies.
In view of this, the regional government has activated a team specialized in infrastructure, roads, public safety and risk management to deal with the damage caused.
The Secretary of Public Safety, Col. Ramón Cabeza, reported that traffic will remain closed between the Citizen Service Point (PAC) “Las Tablets” in Biruaca and the PAC La Casona in Pedro Camejo, under the protection of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), until further notice, only motorcycle-type vehicles will be allowed to pass through under the supervision of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
The authorities urge the community, especially drivers of public transport, heavy cargo and private vehicles, to respect current restrictions and avoid using this road while recovery work is being carried out.
