Revolutionary Government announces creation of a comprehensive unit for people with disabilities in Maracay

The National Executive, through the local government, announced the creation of the “Hugo Chávez” Comprehensive Care Unit for people with disabilities in the Girardot municipality of the state of Aragua.

This unit will have a specialized operating room for ulcers, areas of dentistry, rehabilitation, clinical laboratory, hydrotherapy pool, an accessible pharmacy and will operate 24 hours a day with specialized medical personnel. Starting this Monday, the Girardot mayor's office will ensure compliance with 5% of employment for people with disabilities, in line with national guidelines.

After an assembly of popular power was held in the capital of the entity, it became known that members of the sector organized themselves to have the first workshop for the repair and manufacture of technical aids and thus form the first factory. It is expected that in 15 days the first wheelchair manufactured by the disability sector will be ready.
