Russia and Venezuela strengthen cultural and educational ties in Caracas

The Russian Embassy in Caracas held a meeting this Monday with activists from Associations of Graduates of Russian and Soviet universities in Venezuela, within the framework of Russian Student Day.

The ambassador of the Russian Federation accredited to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Sergey Melik-Bagdasárov, during his participation in the meeting, thanked the activists for their work in promoting Russian culture and language.

“Their work plays a key role in strengthening cultural and educational ties between our countries, as well as in transmitting the values of friendship and mutual understanding to new generations,” he said.

The Russian diplomat presented the results of the III Congress of the Russian Language in Venezuela, where important directions of work were discussed, so he expressed his hope that this year all associations will actively participate in the planned events.

He stressed that 2025 will be special for Russia and Venezuela because of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory over Nazi-Fascism in the Great Patriotic War. “These dates remind us of the importance of historical memory, friendship between peoples and the struggle for peace. Commemorative activities have been scheduled this year, and it will be an honor to have your participation in them,” he said.
