The statements of last Wednesday, issued by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, allow us to conclude that he is “seeking a continuation of the war,” said the spokesman of the Russian Federation , Dmitri Peskov, on Thursday, according to information published by Russia Today (RT).
The spokesman described the French president's speech as “extremely confrontational” and added that “it can hardly be perceived as the speech of a head of state who thinks about peace. Rather, from what has been said, it can be concluded that France thinks more about the war, about the continuation of the war”.
“The feeling is that France is really looking for a continuation of the war. In addition, France is already ready to use its nuclear weapons for security reasons and so on. This is already nuclear rhetoric, a demand for nuclear leadership in Europe, which is very, very confrontational,” he stressed.
At this point, Peskov indicated that in Macron's statements “there were a lot of inaccuracies, diplomatically speaking.” Thus, the French leader positioned Russia as “almost an enemy, an adversary” of Paris, but “nothing is said about how the military infrastructure of the North Atlantic Organization (NATO) has constantly sneaked up, and even marched by leaps and bounds towards Russia's borders”.
“And Mr. President failed to mention Russia's legitimate concerns and fears in this regard. And the need for Russia to take responsive measures,” he stressed.
