Saab prosecutor: Young detainee who threw a student from the Juan José de Escalona high school down a ravine

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported the arrest of the adolescent who threw a student down a ravine in the vicinity of the Juan José de Escalona Educational Unit, located in El Hatillo.

This was announced by the Public Ministry (MP), through its account on the social network Instagram, in which it indicates the arrest of a 15-year-old teenager, identified as R.A.S.B., who threw his classmate, J.A.P.G., of the same age, through a ravine in the aforementioned area.

Videos released on social networks show the moment when the incident occurred.

Faced with this situation, Saab announced that the 66th National Prosecutor's Office and the 117th Office of the Metropolitan Area of Caracas have been appointed to investigate the case and file charges for preintentional homicide in a degree of frustration and distress.

In addition, the deprivation of liberty will be requested for the aggressor, which will be carried out in the care entity for men “Los Cocos”, in the state of Nueva Esparta.

This action is part of the Public Ministry's commitment to guarantee justice and security in the country, especially in the protection of children and adolescents.

Saab emphasized the importance of programs such as “No to bullying” and reiterated that management remains on permanent alert to any abuse that may occur in schools and high schools. “We will always enforce the law,” he said.
