Anti-imperialist organizations from Panama reject that their country be used as a spearhead of the United States (USA) to interfere in the internal affairs of Venezuela.

The impact on the local economy is one of the elements cited by those who question from Panama the suspension of diplomatic relations with Venezuela after the elections of July 28 in the South American country.

The spokeswoman for the Anti-Imperialist Movement of Panama, Gilma Camargo, considered that the country's economy is severely affected and it would not be useful to break relations with Venezuela, “because it is a country that constantly uses the Colon Free Zone, especially in the last quarter of the year.”

He assured that the Government of José Murillo cannot maintain this wrong policy because they do not have the legal basis to do so.

Other organizations also reject the rapprochement between Panamanian authorities and U.S. officials, on the suspicion that Panama is being used as a springboard for aggression by other peoples in the region.
