Solidarity and shared history: Venezuela commemorates 81 years of Vietnam's independence

In an emotional atmosphere of fraternity and diplomacy, the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Caracas commemorated the 81st Anniversary of its Independence Day, a historic milestone of profound significance for the Vietnamese people and the sovereign nations of the world.
The occasion also served as a framework of honor to pay a warm farewell tribute to Vu Trung My, ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam accredited to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, recognizing his outstanding work in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The event was attended by the Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Daniella Cabello; the Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Andrea Corao Fanía; the Deputy Minister for Latin America, Mauricio Rodríguez, and the Deputy Minister of International Trade, Marynna Saatdjian; as well as the distinguished members of the diplomatic missions accredited in the country, authorities nationals and special guests.
In the interventions of the authorities present, that historic September 2, 1945, was commemorated, when the famous leader and Father of the Fatherland, President Ho Chi Minh, proclaimed the independence of Vietnam in the emblematic Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) and laying the foundations of a free and dignified nation; from the struggle for independence and national reunification to Building and developing the country in times of peace, Vietnam has strengthened its resources, potential, position and international prestige.
Deputy Minister Andrea Corao expressed her deep gratitude to Vietnam for sending more than 45 tons of humanitarian aid and a contingent of rescuers after the double earthquake of June 24, which was a tangible demonstration of the traditional friendship and of the Integral Partnership between Venezuela and Vietnam.
The occasion was propitious for the Venezuelan diplomat to deliver to Ambassador Vu Trung My a letter signed by Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia González, addressed to his Vietnamese counterpart, Lê Hoài Trung, on the occasion of the congratulations on the anniversary of the independence of the Asian nation.
Both sister nations have enjoyed cordial and unbreakable bonds of friendship, based on a deep historical affinity, sovereign respect and mutual admiration since the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
The evening concluded with words of deep gratitude to the Vietnamese diplomat for his tireless dedication to the service of peace and integration during the development of his diplomatic mission in Venezuela, reaffirming the unequivocal commitment of both nations to continue consolidating a strategic agenda of shared development and indestructible friendship.
